HOULTON – Nina M. Russell, 88, wife of the late Charles W. Russell, passed away peacefully with her children by her side at Houlton Regional Hospital on December 30, 2014. She was born March 12, 1926, in Hopewell Hill, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of Rufus and Ruby (Williams) Upham. Nina grew up in Linneus, where she raised her ten children.
Nina loved going to music jams in Sherman, Littleton and anywhere there was music. She also loved going to Bingo.
She is survived by seven children, Mae and Bob Brisk of Canada, Gary and Elaine of Oakfield, David, Charlene, Carol Logue and Jim all of Houlton, Jeffrey and Becky of IL, Theresa Grant and David of Linneus; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren too numerous to mention; a brother, Eddi and Virginia of Meriden CT; a sister, Evelyn Tingley of NC; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years; three children, Charles, Dale and Linda Drake.
Friends called 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton, where funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. Jamie Gardner officiating. Spring interment will be in the Linneus Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
