Fergie and Shadow have become best buddies at the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Adoption Center. They have all of their medical completed and are ready for a home. President of the Halfway Home Pet Rescue Norma Milton commented that it would be nice if both cats could be adopted together because of their friendship, but it is not necessary as they are both very well adjusted cats. “Both would be good pets for any size family,” she said. “They respond well with our service dog volunteer, but we are not sure how they might react to any less well mannered dog. They are quite mellow, very clean and happy cats.” The adoption fee for one cat is $50, but the two can be adopted together for $75. The rescue’s Second Chance Thrift Store is fundraising with pet gift baskets, and Milton said that each $5 to $10 basket has more than double its value in pet items. The rescue is in need of Purina Cat Chow (blue bag of Complete Diet), Purina Kitten Chow and is also running very low on non-clumping cat litter. Items can be dropped off at 11 Pioneer Ave. in Caribou. Monetary donations are welcomed and can be mailed to HHPR, PO Box 488, Caribou 04736. HHPR is a 501c3 non-profit and all donations are income tax deductible.
