Ricker Rumblings

We are well into January at this time, 2015. I’ve been absent due to sickness. Hope to be more frequent from now on. No fun to be sick and in bed for three days. My neighbors were very helpful and thanks to everyone who served me at this time.

Shirley Nason is feeling better since her surgery in Bangor and rehab at Gardiner. We are glad you are feeling better, Shirley. Winnie Briggs is celebrating her birthday on Jan. 15. She will be 94. Give her a call, if you can. She would like that.
Thomas Suitter spent an overnight in Bangor a few nights ago. He enjoyed it. Did I tell you about Lavina Byron’s Christmas gifts? Her family sent one each day in the Christmas season. One day it was a musical recital with two granddaughters playing the piano including another friend, another day it was a long distance phone call from out of state. Everyday was a surprise. What a nice and unique way to wind up the Christmas season.
Carman Chasse is leaving after several years at Ricker. She is going to be at Four Seasons and will be a neighbor of Sylvia Thompson.
I heard through the grapevine that the dance at the American Legion on Bangor Road, that Paul Armstrong and his crew played at, was a success. We all like to hear that. Bill and Fran Dunn of Spring Street had many members of their family visiting over the Christmas season.
“A man named John was sent from God. He came for testimony to testify to the light so that all might believe through him. He was not the light but came to testify to the light.” John 1:6-8.”
My wish is that all readers have a peaceful and joyful new year of 2015. Just a note on angels: “ We were made men and not angels in order that we might seek our happiness through the medium of this life.” (Miguel de Unamana)
