HOULTON – Robert E. Trickey, Jr., 86, left us on January 9, 2015, after a long illness. He was born November 9, 1928, the son of Robert and Lucille Maddocks Trickey.
Bob would like you to know that he dearly loved his wife Kaye; his children, Joel, Jace, Kim and Jeffery; his sister, Marlene Picarella; his grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Wade, Jessica, Ian, Theron, Jacob, Lauren and Luke; great-granddaughters, Sophia, Scarlet, Gabriella, and Olivia; his in-law children, Terry, Bink, Heidi, Tim, Linda, Amanda, Anecia, and Derek; nephews and niece, Joseph, Charles, Robert and Lucille.
He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict as a member of the Military Police in Germany. You perhaps will remember Bob as your Little League or Pony Team coach, as a dad who cleared the ice on the outdoor rink so you could play hockey, or one of your hockey coaches.
You may remember his love of a good competitive golf partner, the man you worked with on the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad, working with Dana in insurance, managing the Sears store in Houlton, or during the early hours of the night for the Bangor Daily News.
And lastly, remember his open welcome always for you at his home and at the camp at Schoodic Lake. He was ready with an engaging smile, a good joke and forever teasing.
Friends were invited to an open house Sunday, January 11 from 12 to 4 p.m. at his home. Calling hours were Monday, January 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Houlton United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Milo. A memorial service will be held during the summer at Schoodic Lake in Brownville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Houlton Humane Society, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, ME 04730. Online condolences and guest book: dunnfuneral.com.
