HOULTON – Wendell “Skip” Geiger, 79, passed away Jan. 6, 2015, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1935, at Roslyn, PA, the son of Floyd and Mary (Williams) Geiger.
Skip served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He met and married Lois Crane. Skip worked for many years as a boiler operator for A.E. Staley’s. He was a lifetime member of the Houlton Lodge of Elks, as well as treasurer and custodian. He was a member of the American Legion Post #47. Skip enjoyed playing golf at the Houlton Community Golf Course. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was a great tease.
Skip is survived by his wife, Lois (Crane) Geiger of Houlton; his children, Daniel Geiger and his wife, Denise of Littleton, Debra Geiger-Cone and her husband, Larry, of Elkins, WV, Dennis Geiger of Houlton, Brent Geiger and his wife, Denise, of Presque Isle; nine grandchildren, Jordan, Jonas, Heath, Leanne, Joshua, Bryant, Janet, Jacob and Jessica; four great-grandchildren, Emma, Molly, Rylee and Tyler; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl and his wife, Janice of Willow Grove, PA, a stepsister, Nancy Harkins of New Jersey; many nieces and nephews; special friend, Deborah Geiger. He was predeceased by his parents; his grandson, Gehrig Quint; his sister, Isabell Schmidt; and two brothers, Richard Geiger and Robert Geiger.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home, Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. where funeral services began at 1 p.m. with the Elks Memorial followed by Rev. Ginny Urbanek officiating.
