5:15-6:45 p.m. — PEE WEE BASKETBALL GAMES at Gentle Memorial Building. It’s Celtics vs. Lakers Tykes at 5:15 followed by the Rockets vs. Hawks Pee Wee at 6.
6:00-9:00 p.m. — SLIDE UNDER THE LIGHTS at Derby Hill. Bring your sleds and enjoy the fun of nighttime sliding! A warming fire will help take the chill off between runs!
7:00-9:00 p.m. — FREE PUBLIC SKATING at John Millar Civic Center. Sponsored by Hogan Tire. Free Night including Free Skate Rentals. Concessions will be available.
9:00 p.m. — MOONLIGHT SNOWSHOE HIKE at Military Street Baptist Church. Guided snowshoe hike on the hill. Come and enjoy nature’s beauty under the moonlight! Bring a headlamp or flashlight!
All weekend at Military Street Baptist Church on the Hill — SNOWSHOE & CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRAILS will be open for use. Trail maps are posted and flagged. Begin at the Moose and enjoy!

6:00-10:00 a.m. — MEDUXNEKEAG RAMBLERS’ SPECIAL BREAKFAST. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so fill up and get ready for a great day of outdoor fun at the Meduxnekeag Ramblers Clubhouse on Wiley Road in Littleton. Cost is $7 for adults and $2 for children under 12. Menu includes eggs, bacon, baked ham, baked beans, homemade donuts and muffins, special pastries and beverages. And, be sure to get a 50/50 ticket for the drawing!
6:00 a.m. — REGISTRATION BEGINS FOR THE MOOSESTOMPERS ICE FISHING DERBY at Peg’s Place. (Pre-Registration is available at Peg’s Place on Friday. MACS Trading Post will also have registrations available). When you purchase a ticket you are automatically entered for a chance to win $500 cash, a two-day stay at Greenland Cove Campground on beautiful East Grand Lake, an Automatic Car Starter from Soucy’s Auto ($300 value), as well as hundreds of dollars in additional door prizes. Registrations are $10 each or 3 for $20. What a deal! $100 for the biggest trout, $100 for the biggest togue. Second place is $50 & third is $25. Prizes for pickerel, perch, and kids’ prizes, too. All Day at Community Park — FAMILY SNOWMAN BUILDING CONTEST. Get the whole family out to build the wildest, craziest, funniest or most traditional snowman imaginable. Bring hats, scarves or other accessories to dress up your creation. There are no rules other than having family fun and building a snowman for everyone to admire and judge. First and second prizes will be awarded for the most creative snowman. Signs will mark the snowman (or woman) building area. Judging will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 7.
8:30 a.m.-12:00 noon — PEE WEE BASKETBALL GAMES at Gentle Memorial Building. The schedule includes Hawks vs. Warriors at 8:30, Jazz vs. Suns at 9:30, Pacers vs. Lakers at 10:30 & Bulls vs. Nets at 11:15.
9:00 a.m. — GIANT SLIDING HILL OPENS. Enjoy Derby Hill for sliding throughout the weekend. Bring your own sled, flying saucer or toboggan and have fun!
10:45 a.m. — THE 31st ANNUAL 5K WILD KATAHDIN TRUST SNOW RUN. A two-mile walk begins at 10:45 a.m. and the run at 11 a.m. First run in the Aroostook Müsterds County Challenge Series. Registration is from 9:30-10:35 a.m. in the Millar Civic Center’s function room on the second floor. Fee is $12 with T-shirt for the first 60 registered participants. The course starts and finishes at the Millar Civic Center’s front entrance. An adult guardian must accompany children under 10 years of age. Categories for 5K run: 14 & under, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 & over. Proceeds benefit the Aid For Kids organization. Refresh-ments available after the run/walk. The awards ceremony will be held at 11:45 a.m., including: run – first place for each age category; walk – first five walkers; special awards; and “MEAN” Runner. 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. — FOOD CONCESSION OPEN IN EXHIBIT HALL at Community Park. The Houlton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary can keep you going through the busy day with a snack, light lunch or hot drink – sandwiches, hot dogs, treats and hot chocolate will all be available.
11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. — HORSE DRAWN SLEIGH RIDES. Enjoy a free sleigh ride through Community Park.
11:30 a.m. — SAWDUST PRIZE SEARCH at Community Park. Sponsored by North Country Cruisers. A guaranteed wild time digging in the sawdust for children’s prizes.
12:00-1:00 p.m. — 7th ANNUAL SLIDING RACE at Derby Hill. Bring your sleds to Derby Hill for this amazing race! Age groups are 6 and under, 7-9 and 10-13. Prizes and ribbons awarded.
12:00-2:00 p.m. — ANTIQUE AND VINTAGE SNOWMOBILE DISPLAY at Community Park. Sponsored by Houlton Power Sports. Bring your restored or vintage and antique sleds and show them off to the crowd. Prizes include $100 People’s Choice Award & $50 Honorable Mention for the oldest sled on the lot. Show the kids the classic sleds that you grew up riding!
12:00-3:00 p.m. — MAINE WINTER SPORTS CENTER CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING at Community Park. Sponsored by Bangor Savings Bank. Take this awesome opportunity to introduce your child or yourself to the excitement of cross-country skiing. It’s a great way to build the love of an outdoor sport to better your health and enjoy nature. Visit the Maine Winter Sports Center Ski Trailer behind the log cabin. Skis, poles and boots provided on loan free by MWSC!
12:45 p.m. — PEE WEE HOCKEY GAME at John Millar Civic Center. The local team takes on Perth-Andover.
1:00 p.m. — 2nd ANNUAL SNOW DANCE at Community Park. Dance to a song and get ready for the Half Dollar Scramble (children only for the scramble). Dance will be on YouTube for all to see!
1:00 p.m. — HALF DOLLAR SCRAMBLE FOR KIDS at Community Park. Three age groups: 6 and under, 7-9 and 10-13. Kids come and dig for treasure! There are three piles of snow mixed with 900 half dollars for the kids to find. 2:00 p.m. — GIANT BONFIRE at Community Park. Sponsored By The Houlton Fire Department. Get warm and toasty after the day of outdoor fun and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
2:00 p.m. — CARDBOARD DERBY RACE at Derby Hill. Cardboard boxes have long been the stuff of forts and science projects, moving days and make-believe spaceships. This February, the cardboard box assumes its best role yet – high-speed, high-occupancy racing vehicle. Just add duct tape, paint and a creative touch and that refrigerator box may just be a ticket to glory in the first-ever Cardboard Box Race. Rules: Everyone wears a helmet and racing vessels must be made of cardboard only. Gather your family and friends and start building that special vehicle. Awards will be presented for Most In A Box, Most Creative, Fastest and Most Spirit. Early registrations are being accepted until February 6 at the Houlton Rec Center. 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. — MOOSESTOMPERS BALL at Downunder Sports Pub. Live moose stompin’ music by Wally & the Virginians, food and friends to finish off a fun day of activities. There will be a cover charge starting at 8 p.m.

11:00 a.m. — GIANT SLIDING HILL REOPENS. Day two of sliding on Derby Hill. Come join the fun!
12:00 noon — SNOW SLED RIDES at Community Park. Take a ride around the park in style as a local snowmobiler pulls you & your friends on a special ‘boggan. A great way to ride!
12:30 p.m. — FREE FAMILY MATINEE at the Temple Theater. Sponsored by Greater Houlton Chamber of Commerce and S.W. Collins. Watch the family friendly movie “Spongebob” and enjoy popcorn and other treats as you begin to wind down from all the fun activities!
2:00-4:00 p.m. — FREE PUBLIC SKATING at John Millar Civic Center. Cost is $2 for Skate Rentals. Concessions available.
3:00 p.m. — FISHING DERBY FINAL WEIGH IN AND AWARDS CEREMONY at Peg’s Place in Linneus. Be there to see the biggest fish!
4:15-5:15 p.m. — FREE STICK TIME at John Millar Civic Center.
4:30 p.m. — INAUGURAL MEN’S BASKETBALL ALL STAR EXTRAVAGANZA at Gentle Memorial Building. Promoted by Houlton Basketball Association Men’s League.
