MONTICELLO, Maine — A 19-year-old Houlton woman was uninjured Monday after losing control and flipping her vehicle on U.S. Route 1, near the Blue Moose Restaurant. According to Maine State Police Sgt. Joshua Haines, Christiana Marcus was operating her 2003 Toyota car south on Route 1 at approximately 11:38 a.m.
“Upon reaching the double lane leaving Monticello she attempted to pass a tractor trailer unit,” Haines said. “Marcus lost control of her vehicle on the slippery roadway and struck the snow bank causing her to roll over. The vehicle came to rest on its roof.”
State Police were assisted by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office and Monticello Fire Department. She was wearing her seat belt.
