PRESQUE ISLE – Rita Guerrette, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born April 16, 1927, in St. Andre, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Paul and Addie (Dube) Page.
Rita married Wilfred Guerrette on June 4, 1955. She was a devoted wife of 57 years, a mother and memere. She was very faithful and devoted to her church St. Mary’s, and a longtime member of the Daughters of Isabella. Rita was an excellent seamstress, loved doing crafts, knitting, quilting and ceramics and collecting porcelain dolls.
She had a daycare in her home for many years and got very attached to the children.
One of her favorite things to do was going to camp to pick strawberries and raspberries with her sister and sister-in-law, and just spending time with family. Family was so important to her.
She is survived by her children, Joan Dyer and her husband, Daniel, of Chapman, Reno Guerrette and his wife, Cleo, of Mapleton, Gary Guerrette and his companion, Bev Erickson, of Presque Isle, and Nancy Cadorette and her husband, Robert, of Bangor; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albenie Page and his wife, Gladys of St. Andre, N.B., and Walter Page and his wife, Cynthia, of St. John N.B.; a sister-in-law, Imelda Page of Grand Falls, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred in July 2012; five sisters, Clodine, Merilda, Adrienne Aubut and her husband, Gerard, Mildred, and Adela Dube and her husband, Leo; and five brothers, Clarence, Ludger, Armand, Eusebe and his wife, Alfreda, and Adrien and his wife, Viola.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Parish of the Precious Blood with Rev. Kyle Doustou officiating. Friends called at the church 10 a.m. until time of service. Spring interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery.
