The Oakfield Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, Feb. 18, for their last meeting of the month at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield with 16 members attending.
Mr. Locke called the business meeting to order after the potluck luncheon with The Lord’s Prayer and Flag Salute. The usual reports were read and accepted. Naci Fowler was the winner of the 50/50 drawing.
Several humorous readings were enjoyed by all. It was brought up to the club that more help in the kitchen would be appreciated, as we all know that many hands make light work, so be sure to offer your help at the next meeting.
“Happy Birthday” was sung to Lottie Doughty.
The next meeting on March 4 will be an auction to raise money to buy some equipment for the kitchen at the Snowmobile Club. Members were asked to bring any items they would be willing to donate.
Auctions are always a fun time with Auctioneer Jeanne Clements and her “urging” folks that we sure do need that special item to complete our wardrobe or whatever — so be sure to come prepared to outbid everyone and take home the goodies.
Attending were Sharon Anderson, Verna Boone, George Barrow, Marie Gillotti, Arlene Friel, Wannetta Townsend, Lottie and Earl Doughty, Charlotte and Don Marley, Naci Fowler, Jeanne Clements, Ursula Levesque, Mildred Gagnon and Delores and Bob Locke.
The Oakfield Senior Citizens meet the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the Smoki-Haulers Club. Lunch is served at 11:30 but all are invited to come early and visit with friends or make new friends. Everyone is welcome.
