    Wilcox, Jasper R., 85, February 18, 2015.  Calling hours are Saturday, February 28 from 12-2 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Spring interment to be held in the Wilcox Cemetery, Cary Plantation.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.

PT Jasper Wilcox1American-Flag-Color    HOULTON – Jasper R. Wilcox, 85, died February 18, 2015, at Eastern Maine Medical Center after a long illness. He was born March 10, 1929, in Houlton, the son of Sherman and Florence (Scott) Wilcox of Cary Plantation.
    Jasper grew up in Houlton and Cary and was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute where he was a member of the football team. Jasper had a life-long love of sports, fishing, hunting and the outdoors, but Jasper’s greatest joys in life were his grandchildren. They brought him much happiness and countless smiles while growing up. They held a very special place in his heart and Grandpa will always have a special place in the hearts of Norman Lowery, Joseph and Thomas Perkins, Jocelyn and Amanda Haney, Maya and Haley Gardiner, and Keenan MacDonald.
PT Jasper Wilcox2    Jasper was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served proudly in Japan as a radio communications specialist primarily for F-86 air craft. Jasper loved Japan and continued to keep close ties with many Japanese friends and family. After leaving the Air Force, Jasper worked as a contractor and carpenter in Florida, Bangor and Houlton for many years.
    Jasper is survived by his daughters and their families, Janet and Haruhiko Murakami of Cary Plantation, Susan Haney of Hampden, Becky and Marty Perkins of Sunapee, NH, Shirley Lowery and Skip MacDonald of Dedham, Amy and Dean Gardiner of Hodgdon, and Elizabeth and Ed Gruszka of Weymouth, MA; the mother of his seven daughters, Masako Wilcox; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jasper was predeceased by his brother, Joseph; sisters, Madeline Carroll, Ruth Austin, Opal Young, Flossie Sager; and daughter, Nancy Wales.
    Friends may call 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 28 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton. Spring interment will be in the Wilcox Cemetery, Cary Plantation. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
