    CARIBOU – Linda M. Bernier, 64, wife of Brent J. Bernier, passed away Sunday evening, February 22, 2015, surrounded by her family, at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born February 24, 1950, in Wallagrass, the daughter of Herbert J. and Theresa “Terry” (White) Labbe.
    She attended Fort Kent schools and was married to Brent J. Bernier on November 18, 1972. Linda had been employed for a number of years by the U.S. Postal Service at Pease Air Force Base, New Hampshire and also worked in the housekeeping department of the Caribou Nursing Home. Linda deeply loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
    She was predeceased by her mother, Theresa “Terry” Labbe on December 8, 2013. She is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Brent J. Bernier of Caribou; two sons, Jason B. Bernier of Caribou, Marcus B. Bernier and his wife, Bobbi-Jo of Mars Hill; her father, Herbert J. Labbe of Van Buren; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Alice Labbe of Tonawanda, NY; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Lloyd Leavitt of Limestone, Hilda and Dana Beaulieu of Soldier Pond; two grand-children, Tyson and Makayla Bernier, both of Mars Hill; her father-in-law, Simon J. Bernier and his companion, Beatrice Spinney, of Limestone; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
    Friends may call Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a service to celebrate Linda’s life will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Fr. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. She will be interred following the service at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery Columbarium Wall. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Bernier to the American Lung Association of Maine, 122 State Street, Augusta, Maine 04330. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
