PT Richard GoganAmerican-Flag-Color    HOULTON – Richard “Dick” M. Gogan, 77, passed away on February 21, 2015, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine surrounded by his family. He was born January 18, 1938, in Houlton, the son of Robert and Lottie (Fogg) Gogan.
    He attended the Houlton schools, served in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion. He was a heavy equipment operator for Donald Guy Construction of Houlton and Rathburn Construction of Presque Isle. Richard was also an over the road truck driver and owned J&R Trucking and Richgo Inc. He owned and operated Richard M. Gogan Construction and worked alongside his son Ritchie and grandsons Cecil and David.
    He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan M. (Folsom) Gogan; two daughters, Cheryl A. Graham and her husband, Peter, of Epsom, New Hampshire, Laurie G. Crowley and her husband, Patrick, of Houlton; one son, Richard A. (Ritchie) Gogan  and his wife, Jennifer, of Houlton; grandchildren, Sarah Graham and Kurt Abbott, Jenna Graham and Ryan Dolan and Lauren Graham, all of Epsom, New Hampshire, Cecil Gogan, David Gogan and Margaret (Maggie) Crowley, all of Houlton; great-grand-children, Cameron Dolan and Gracie Abbott of Epsom, New Hampshire; sisters, Ruby Horward and her husband, William, of Burlington, Massachusetts, and Gertrude McGary of Houlton; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving companion “Chance”. He was predeceased by his parents; mother and father-in law, Paul Folsom, Sr. and his wife, Lucy; brother, Rev Robert Gogan and his wife, Geraldine; and brother-in-law, Lloyd McGary.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at Dunn Funeral Home. Friends called from 12 noon until time of service. A spring interment with military honors will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Houlton.
