BRIDGEWATER – Robert ‘Bob’ Kilcollins passed away in the home he was born in on February 27, 2015. Bob was born on the farm September 6, 1928, to Fred and Ada Kilcollins.
Bob was born, worked and died on the family farm. He spent his time with friends and family enjoying a wide variety of activities including hunting, fishing, skiing, golfing, travel and visiting. The farm was always open to those wanting to stop and visit, a twinkle in his eyes as he would tickle a child or laugh at a joke. He was a farmer who lived and loved the seasons, visiting his nephew, Jeffrey Kilcollins’ farm with regularity to talk with the men and check on the crop. He loved and was loved, a very happy man, and guided his life by his own hand. Farewell old friend, St. Peter is waiting on a game of cribbage.
Bob is survived by the love of his life and wife of 51 years, Shirley Elizabeth (Green) Kilcollins; his sister, Joyce Sarrasin of Florida; sister-in-law, Nancy Cripton; brother-in-law, Butch Green and his wife, Peggy; daughter, Kirsten Dixon and her husband, Al, of Groveland, Fla.; son, Scott Kilcollins and his wife, Michelle, of Kenduskeag; grandchildren, Chad Dixon and wife, Ewa, Shelby Gemme and husband, Brad, Ashley Kilcollins, Alex Willette and wife, Melissa, and Brittney Kilcollins; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Dixon, and Peyton and Paige Gemme.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by four siblings, Avis, Maxine, Paul and Vella; brother-in-law, Mike Cripton; and a very special nephew, Jeff Kilcollins.
A graveside service will be held later in the spring at Smith Cemetery, Bridgewater. Services in care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill. Online condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
