PI hockey finishes season

    The Wildcat hockey team ended up 4-13-1 on the season and out of the playoff picture following a home loss to Old Town-Orono Feb. 12 and another defeat in Winslow Feb. 14 and Waterville Feb. 16.

PI lost its final home game of the season to Old Town-Orono, 6-2, after being outshot 40-12. Darin Gerdner scored twice for the winners, while James Kinney netted his first high school goal for PI and teammate Craig Schiff was the other Wildcat goal scorer. Megan McKnight picked up assists on both scoring plays.

On Saturday, the Wildcats were blitzed by the Black Raiders, 9-1. Logan Denis registered that hat trick for Winslow, which had 68 shots in the match.
Cooper Madore scored PI’s only goal.
Matt Jolicoeur and Jackson Aldrich each posted hat tricks for Waterville in a 13-1 loss to the Purple Panthers to finish the season. Cooper Madore again picked up the lone goal for the Wildcats off an Isaac Madore assist. Flynn faced 75 shots in goal for PI, which finished eighth  in the final Eastern Maine Class B standings.
The Eastern Maine Class B post-season award winners were named Feb. 22. Flynn was named a second team all-star and Cooper Madore earned honorable mention. Flynn was also named to the all-academic team.
