Joshua Archer |
CARIBOU — A Washburn man has been hired as a staff reporter at the Aroostook Republican & News. Although he had been writing freelance articles for the past month, Joshua Archer’s first official day on the job was Feb. 13.
He replaces Theron Larkins who had worked at the paper since January 2014.
A Presque Isle High School graduate, Archer, 28, is currently attending the University of Maine at Presque Isle and pursuing a degree in English. He has gained experience in news reporting while employed as digital managing editor at Townsquare Media and before that as production manager/engineer at WAGM-TV. In addition to his journalism experience, Archer has also worked as a substitute teacher and in retail at Lowe’s and Kmart.
Archer and his wife Mallory have two children. His interests outside of work include video production, website development, blogging and collecting comic books.
At the Aroostook Republican, Archer will share editorial responsibilities with staff reporter Natalie de La Garza, who has been with the paper since 2008, and longtime sportswriter Kevin Sjoberg. He can be reached at 496-3251 or via email at republican@
