The award is the state’s highest individual high school basketball honor and recognizes senior players’ efforts on the court as well as their contributions to their team and overall basketball in Maine. Both Bouchard and Lux are set to play at Division II Bentley University in Waltham, Mass. next year.
Named Miss Basketball finalists were Hannah Graham, a 5-10 guard from Presque Isle; Ashley Storey, a 6-2 center from Greely of Cumberland Center, and Victoria Lux, a 6-1 forward from Thornton Academy of Saco.
The winners will be announced during the annual Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star Awards Banquet on Friday, March 13, at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor. The 2015 Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All Star Basketball Games will be held Saturday, March 14, at Husson University along with the state foul shooting and dunk competition.
Bouchard is the lone local student to be chosen to play in this year’s boys event, while Kennedi Smith of Southern Aroostook Community School was chosen for the girls game.
All-Star Weekend is a salute to the top high school senior student-athletes and coaches from across Maine. More than 100 individuals representing more than 70 high schools will be honored for their achievements both on and off the basketball court. The games on Saturday are open to the public and tickets are available at the door. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
