Green, Louis B., 84, March 7, 2015. Arrangements by Davis Funeral Home, Nashua, NH.
Louis Bernard Green, 84, of Nashua, NH, passed away in his home on March 7.
Lou was born in Maine in 1931 to Irene and Alfred Green. He attended high school in Houlton where he lettered in three varsity sports. After graduating, he served for four years in the U.S. Navy.
After the Navy, he graduated from Babson College in 1959 with a degree in Business.
He then began his career at Honeywell in MA, CA, and FL. Lou left Honeywell for a job at Wang Laboratories in 1980 where he went on to become Senior Vice President. He contributed much to advancements in high tech manufacturing even being featured as the cover story within magazines in the industry. Lou took his job seriously; he was never one to demand the spotlight. He loved humor and was always ready to laugh at himself. His business life can best be described as trying to do the right thing. He was an excellent listener, a good mentor, and helped many people with their careers. Lou preferred to speak of ideas and values, not of himself.
Lou treasured his family more than anything in his life, and he considered it his greatest accomplishment. He married his wife, Joan Johnston, in 1956. They had two children, Judy and Beth. He enjoyed golf, tennis, and fishing.
Lou is survived by his wife, Joan; Judy and Joe Gamache and their son, Michael, and Beth and Tony Luliano and their children, Ben and Lea. For the last twelve years, Lou’s constant companion was his dog, Zoe.
Goodbye noble husband, father, and friend. May you rest in peace.
Memorial services will be private and held at the convenience of his family. Donations can be made in his name to Gateways Autism Center (non-profit), 144 Canal St., Nashua, NH 03064. The Davis Funeral Home, One Lock Street, Nashua has been placed in charge of arrangements.
