Agency receives grant for energy audit
PRESQUE ISLE — ACAP Early Care and Education Center, Gouldville, has received a $2,000 grant from Grants to Green Maine, a partnership between the Maine Development Foundation’s Maine Downtown Center, Efficiency Maine and the Maine Community Foundation, to provide an energy efficiency audit on the facility, which is located on Park Street in Presque Isle.
“This grant will enable us to complete an energy efficiency audit of our building and provide a report with priorities for energy efficiency improvements,” said Sue Powers, ACAP family services senior manager. “Higher energy costs have decreased the amount of money we can put toward our mission of serving the educational and health needs of our low-income families in Presque Isle and surrounding communities. It is important to make our building more efficient, which will — in turn — make our programs and services more sustainable.”
ACAP Early Care and Education Center, Gouldville, provides educational and health services for children including Head Start, Early Head Start, childcare, Supplemental Nutrition for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), and oral health services.
