HAYNESVILLE – Althea L. Rouse, 79, died, March 18, 2015, in Houlton. She was born October 5, 1935 the daughter of Hubert and Ruth (Cropley) Young.
Althea attended Danforth schools. She loved to knit, play bingo, do word searches, having her family around, helping people out and she especially loved to cook.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas Rouse of Haynesville; three daughters, Cathy and Hudson Cole of Linneus, Lynn and Ronald Tuck of Haynesville, Helena and Percy Cochran of Houlton; three sons, Thomas “Butch” and Sharon Rouse of Amity, Paul and Lisa Rouse and Steven and Tory Rouse, all of Haynesville; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; you are all my favorite. She is also survived by siblings, Irene and Larry Malone, Laurel and Marge Young, Patricia and Doug Frye; sister-in-law, Wanda Young, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janet; brother, Brian; sister, Christina “Tink”; an infant sister and two infant brothers; brother-in-law, Arnold Moody Sr.; nephew Bo Moody; son-in-law, Brian P. Gilpatrick.
A graveside funeral service will be held in the spring at the Haynesville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate to St. Jude’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
