SAUCIER, Norman Joseph, 84, PRESQUE ISLE, March 22, 2015. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, March 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
PRESQUE ISLE – Norman J. Saucier, 84, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 22, 2015, at his residence. The son of Honore and Anna (Caron) Saucier, he was born in Wallagrass, ME, on October 20, 1930.
He worked for the State of Maine, he also worked as a farmer for many years, and as a custom wood worker in Presque Isle. He had a passion for gardening and specialized in growing tomatoes and strawberries. He used his amazing sense of humor with an undercurrent of wisdom as a method of teaching life’s lessons to his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Edna (Plourde) Saucier of Presque Isle; four sons: Carlton and his wife, Nancy, of Mapleton, Raymond, Michael and his wife, Debbie, and David Saucier and his fiancé, Emily Allen, all of Presque Isle; four daughters: Patricia Christy and her husband, Rodney, of Crown Point, IN, Marcella Opalka and her husband, Richard of Dover, NH, Pamela Christy of Winthrop, MA, and Tina Tompkins and her fiancé, John Thyng, of Mapleton; a brother, Leo Saucier of Millinocket; two sisters, Carmen Dube of Bristol, CO, and Joann Farmer of East Millinocket; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Norman Jr.; and several siblings.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Main Street, Presque Isle, with Rev.
