     HURT, Virginia J., 92, CLEARWATER, FL & FORT FAIRFIELD, ME, at Rye, NH, March 12, 2015. A graveside memorial service will be held in the summer in Fort Fairfield for family and friends. 

    CLEARWATER, FL & FORT FAIRFIELD, ME – Virginia J. Hurt, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 12. 2015, in Rye, NH. Virginia was born on June 24, 1922, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Arthur and Nora (LeVasseur) McKenney. She was the oldest of six children.
    Virginia attended Husson College and worked at Presque Isle Air Force Base during WWII, where she met her husband William “Bill” Hurt, who was in the Army Air Corps. They were married in 1943 and settled in Fort Fairfield after the war where they owned a potato farm. They had two sons,  Michael and Brian.
    In 1963, the family relocated to Connecticut where Virginia worked for many years at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft.
    In 1988, Bill and Virginia retired to Clearwater, FL, where they made many friends and were avid golfers.
    Virginia is survived by her two sons, Mike and his wife, Suzanne, of Rye, NH, and Brian and his wife, Christine, of Colchester, CT; her brother, Larry McKenney and his wife, Peggy, of Homestead, FL; seven grandchildren, John Michael, Matthew, Patrick, Melinda and Andrea Hurt, Melissa Magee, and Elizabeth Cruz; and four great-grandchildren, MaKenzie Hurt, twins, Max and Lucy Magee, and Sofie Cruz, who all loved their “Nannie”.
    A graveside memorial service will be held in the summer in Fort Fairfield for family and friends.
