The Caribou Business & Professional Women’s Organization is announcing three scholarship opportunities to be awarded this June by the local group.
Caribou High School seniors entering an accredited college may apply for the Viola Willard High School Scholarship. Viola Willard was a retired educator who was a long-time member of Caribou BPW and served as the BPW Maine State President in 1977-78. College students entering their junior year may apply for the Caribou BPW Interim Scholarship. A woman who is at least 25 years old and is a first-time entrant to an institute of higher learning may apply for the Caribou BPW Non-Traditional Scholarship.
Also available are four scholarship opportunities at the state level. The Futurama Foundation is accepting applications for BPW Maine Futurama Scholarships. One scholarship is for a high school senior accepted into an accredited college or university. The other three scholarships are for women already in college or who are planning to return to college or continue their education. All application forms and instructions for the state scholarships may be accessed at the Futurama Foundation’s website at www.bpwmefoundation.org.
Qualification information and application forms for local scholarships are available at Caribou High School and local colleges and must be received by April 20. The deadline for state applications is April 13. All can be mailed to Caribou BPW, P.O. Box 412, Caribou, Maine 04736.
