Saucier, Gilman J., 68, March 21, 2015.  There will be a private family time of remembrance at a later date.

American Flag ColorAR Saucier ObitCARIBOU and PUNTA GORDA, FLORIDA – Gilman J. Saucier, 68, passed away on March 21, 2015, at his Florida home. Gil was born in Eagle Lake on November 8, 1946, to the proud parents Louis T. Saucier and Rose Amie (Sirois) Saucier.
He moved to Caribou in the early 1950s and attended Caribou schools until he graduated from high school in 1965. As a youngster, he enjoyed playing all sports with all the neighborhood kids, but his favorite sport was always baseball. He loved the Boston Red Sox and Celtics teams and later in life he really enjoyed following the University of Connecticut men’s and women’s basketball teams. He proudly flew a UConn University flag outside his home in Florida.
In high school, Gil played on the CHS varsity baseball and soccer teams. After graduation, Gil served in the United States Armed Forces for two years. One year in service to his country was spent in Vietnam as an Artillery Gunman. Following his service, he came home where he met and married Cindy Lloyd, and together they raised a beautiful daughter, Tracy, who was always Dad’s special child. Gil also had a special relationship with his mother-in-law, Emily Lloyd.
Gilman always worked in the beverage and food service field, first working for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Presque Isle, then transferring to Connecticut. While he lived in Connecticut, he remarried to Kerri L. Eckstrom and was with her for over twenty years. He and Kerri then moved to Florida where he began his own business in which he purchased a food delivery service. He would begin his deliveries to local markets at 4 a.m. until mid-afternoon, then he would come home to relax in the warm Florida sun and plan his deliveries for the next day. His love of sports continued as he played Men’s Softball into his 60s in the Florida Senior League. His teammates described him as a very intense all-out player, coming home after games with many bumps and bruises, but he loved it!
Gil was predeceased by his mother and father; his sister, Geraldine (Saucier) Suitter (wife of Marvin Suitter), his brother, Eugene Saucier, and Eugene’s wife, Donna Saucier.
Surviving in addition to his wife Kerri are his daughter, Tracy (Saucier) Johnson of Key West, Florida; sister Jeannette (Saucier) Albert and husband, Don, sister Joan (Saucier) Steeves and husband Carroll, all of Caribou; sister Jackie (Saucier) Stephens of Mechanicsburg, Penn-sylvania; and brothers, Gerald and wife Geraldine, and James and wife Nancy, all of Caribou.
As requested by Gil, there will be a private family time of remembrance at a later date.
