HOULTON – Laurie Ann Pedersen, 51, of Houlton, went home to be with her Lord and Savior March 28, 2015, after a brave and courageous battle with lupus. She was born August 16, 1963, in Houlton, the daughter of Joseph Folsom, Sr. and Helen (Deveau) Folsom Taylor.
Laurie grew up in the Houlton and Monticello areas. She attended Houlton schools, acquired her GED and her Certified Nurse’s Aide certificate. Laurie worked as a CNA at Gardiner Healthcare Facility for many years. Laurie was a member of the Houlton Band of Maliseet. She enjoyed fishing, fiddleheading, raking blueberries, horseshoes, cribbage, and being outside in the woods.
In addition to her mother, she leaves behind three children: Krystal Caron, Karsten Pedersen and Kylie Pedersen, all of Houlton; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Thomas, Sasha, Gwendolyn, Kameron, Shawn, Kya, Jayden and Phoenix; two brothers, Joseph Folsom, Jr. of Houlton, Gerald Folsom of Oregon; three sisters, Tammy Brackett of Houlton & Meriden, CT, Heidi Caron and Carol Folsom, both of Houlton; her aunt Phyllis; nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special friend and caretaker, Dayna Owens. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph Folsom, Sr. and the love of her life, Robert Polchies.
Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of the celebration of her life at 1 p.m. with Rev. James Gardner officiating.
