WOODLAND — One hundred fifty parents and community members attended the 21st annual Education Night held March 25 at the Woodland Consolidated School.
This year’s Education Night theme was “Moving Forward.” Presentations by staff featured how Union 122 is preparing for and implementing standards based learning and the new Smarter Balanced state assessment.

A delicious chicken stew supper was served by Union 122 food service managers, Della Learned and Melanic Lagasse, and was enjoyed by all.
The Union 122 Show Choir closed the evening with their performance of “Pete’s Dragon.” This year’s Show Choir troupe is 35 students strong from both Woodland and New Sweden schools. They recently won a Gold Award at the Maine State Vocal Jazz Festival with several soloists scoring high points.
