Allen receives MPA Honor
EASTON, Maine — Alexandra Allen, a senior at Easton Junior Senior High School, has been selected to receive the 2015 Principal’s Award, Principal Cameron Adams announced on March 30.
The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“Alex is an outstanding young lady. She has a positive attitude and jovial personality. People absolutely love to be around her. She sets a very high standard for herself from the classroom to the stage and athletically as well. For Alex, this award comes with some history, as her mom also received the award as a senior!” Principal Adams noted in making the presentation. “She is very deserving of this recognition.”
Alex and other awardees will be recognized at an Honors Luncheon at the Spectacular Event Center in Bangor. The Honors Luncheon recognizes these outstanding students with the presentation of an individual plaque and the awarding of 10 $1,000 scholarships in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler. Mr. McGowan and Mr. Tyler were former Maine principals and executive directors of the Association.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of the MPA, the professional association, which represents Maine’s school administrators.
