BRISTOL, CT & FORT FAIRFIELD, ME – Joyce M. Milbury, 84, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, March 31, 2015. She was the wife of George H. Milbury for over 64 years.
Joyce was born in Fort Fairfield, on February 13, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Boulier) Shaw. She was devoted to her family and retired as a bookkeeper after several years with the former Calco Cleaning. Joyce had also been a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church, Bristol.
Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Stephen J. Milbury and his girlfriend, Pam Potanka, of Avon, CT, Sheree J. Mailhot and her husband, Thomas, of Bristol, CT, and Sabrina Joy Milbury and her husband, Andy Johnson, of South Burlington, VT; brother, Robert Shaw and his wife, Jill, of Caribou, ME; sisters, Mary Giberson and her husband, Alfred, of Presque Isle, ME, Carolyn Adams and her husband, Floyd, of Limestone, ME, and Alice McCarthy of Bristol, CT; grandchildren, Jerry R. Daniels, III, of Bristol, Christine E. Clement and her husband, Nils, of Plainville, CT, Errik Milbury and his wife, Kristen, of Woodbury, CT, Sean G. Milbury of Southington, CT, Olivia J. Milbury of Enfield, CT, and Jaska M. Bradeen of Moretown, VT; step-grandchildren, Katie Clukey and her husband, Justin, of Bristol, Kristin Mailhot and her fiancé, Christian Otis, of New Haven, CT; step-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Lucas Clukey of Bristol; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Christine E. Merrithew and Judy Foster; and brother, Richard Shaw.
Calling hours were on Monday, April 6, 2015, at 11 a.m., at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Avenue, Forestville/Bristol, CT. A funeral service immediately followed at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Robert D. Sorozan, Pastor of the Prospect United Methodist Church officiating.
