PORTAGE LAKE – Daniel A. Perreault, 49, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 12, 2015, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born May 25, 1965, a son of R. Allen Perreault and Donna Bouchard.
Dan worked as a foremen with Maine Woods Company for many years. Previously, he worked with the Pinkham Mill and was a former member of the Portage Fire Department. He was a hardworking man who quickly earned respect from the many coworkers and people around him, and usually became instant friends. Dan enjoyed all the Maine Woods had to offer, especially hunting, fishing and four-wheeling. His favorite hunting and fishing trips were rarely about the destination but, instead, about the company he was with; he cherished trips with his son and father. Dan was eager for this summer to begin so he could share his new boat with family and friends.
Dan is survived by his son, Tristan Perreault and his mother, Candy Cyr, of Portage; Tristan’s half-sister, Mariechen Cyr of Austin, TX; Dan’s mother, Donna (Bouchard) Perreault of Presque Isle; his father, R. Allen Perreault of Palermo; two sisters, Allison Perreault of Fairborn, OH, and Nora Shemkovitz and her husband, David, of Presque Isle; his best friends, Russell Morris and Mattthew Boutot, both of Portage; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to greet the family 12 noon – 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland, ME. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donation in Dan’s name may be made to the family for a college fund for his son’s benefit: PO Box 22, Portage, ME 04768.
