Margaret Lynette Chandler Russell
RUSSELL, Margaret Lynette Chandler, 95, NORTH CONWAY, NH & MAPLETON, ME, at Summerfield, FL, April 9, 2015. Funeral services will be held June 20, 2015, at 10 a.m., at Mapleton Baptist Church with interment at Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle, to follow immediately after the service.
NORTH CONWAY, NH & MAPLETON, ME – Margaret Lynette Chandler Russell, wife of the late Raymond F. Russell, went to live with our Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015, in Summerfield, FL, at the age of 95. She was born March 15, 1920, in Perham, ME, the daughter of Alfred C. and Lynette (Harris) Chandler.
On July 13, 1941, she married her husband and best friend of 42 years, Raymond. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1938, and Presque Isle Normal School in 1941 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1965. She taught in the Presque Isle school district for almost 20 years. Margaret was the matriarch of a large and devoted family, and her legacy lives on through her grandchildren and their families. She loved and was loved by them all.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond F. Russell in 1983; two sons, Delmar F. (Billy) and Derek L. Russell; son-in-law, Larry Dicker; two half-sisters, Doris Behovich and Dorothy Mulloy; and half-brother, Vincent Chandler (died April 13, 2015) of Englewood, FL.
She is survived by three daughters, Maureen McKenna of North Conway, NH, Marlene Dicker of Summerfield, FL, and Judy and her husband, Phil Morrill, of Scopan Lake, ME; daughters-in-law, Gloria Russell of Garfield, ME, and Phyllis Russell of Lancaster, KY; two half-brothers, Vernon Chandler of Texarkana, TX, and Vinal Chandler of Durham, NH; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P. O. Box 867, Presque Isle, ME 04769. Funeral services will be held June 20, 2015, at 10 a.m., at Mapleton Baptist Church with interment at Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle, to follow immediately after the service.
