A downstate author is compiling a book about the experiences of young men from her hometown who served in Vietnam. One of the soldiers assigned to the 1st Battalion 12th Cavalry was treated in February 1967 at LZ English. The soldier cannot remember the medic’s name but claims he was from Fort Fairfield.
