Jeremiah’s Team wins hoop title

CARIBOU, Maine — Jeremiah’s Team went through the playoff bracket undefeated to win the Caribou Men’s Basketball League title.
The squad defeated Griffeth Ford in the finals in overtime, 72-60, on April 15 at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center gymnasium.


In that contest, Griffeth Ford came out strong and led by seven points at halftime. However, in the second half, Jeremiah’s Team chipped away and eventually went ahead.
The game remained close for majority of the second half with Jeremiah’s Team leading by two points with seconds left before Griffeth Ford’s Sam Robertson made a tough layup to tie it up and force the extra session.
Jeremiah’s Team controlled play in the overtime session to come out on top.
The top scorers for the winners were Greg Whitaker with 21 points, followed by Alan Campbell with 13 and Matt Till with 10.
Griffeth Ford was led by Jordan Guy with 15. Ghent Holdsworth added 13, while Chris Nadeau and Cameron Anderson both netted 11.
