plan fiddlehead supper May 15

The Chapman Ridge Runners Snowmobile and ATV Club will be hosting its annual fiddlehead supper at the clubhouse, located at 94 Town Hall Road in West Chapman, on Friday, May 15.
There will be two seatings: one at 4:30 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. The menu will consist of a fiddlehead appetizer, roast pork, baked potatoes, fiddleheads, rolls and homemade desserts. Tickets are $10 each and are pre-sold only. Call Audrey at 764-1769 or Sue at 764-1236 to order tickets.

Mother/daughter tea
The Haystack Historical Society will host a mother/daughter tea and antique doll showing Saturday, May 16 at 11 a.m. at the museum on Main Street in Mapleton. Tickets will be $5 per table, with four people per table. The fee will include a light lunch and tea. There will also be a door prize drawn. Those wishing to are encouraged to bring a special doll to show the group. Advance reservations must be made. Tickets will be available by contacting Alice Shepard at 769-6431 or Myrna Gardner at 764-0290.
Book fair
The Mapleton Parent Organization is hosting its annual spring “Buy One, Get One Free” Scholastic Book Fair all this week at the Mapleton Elementary School through Friday, May 8. The theme is “Under the Sea, Explore an Ocean of Books.” Volunteers will have the fair open daily from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. and special evening hours tonight, May 6 from 6-8 p.m. The MPO’s RADA fundraiser orders will also be available for pickup during the book fair.
Benefit dinner
The Castle Hill Advent Christian Church invites the public to a benefit dinner for Frank and Anita Moody. The baked bean and hot dog dinner, with all the fixings, will be held at the church on Saturday, May 16 from 5-7 p.m. For more information, please call Shirley Kidney at 455-8006. Donations will be accepted for the meal.
