PORTLAND — On April 23 the RTDNA announced this year’s Regional Edward R. Murrow Award winners. Among them was Hodgdon native Rob Nesbitt for writing in his story “Bone Marrow Brothers.”
Nesbitt’s “Bone Marrow Brothers” originally aired April 17, 2014. Eight-year-old Colby Scott is alive today thanks to the bone marrow that his 6-year-old brother Carson donated. It was a tough experience for the youngsters, but their sense of humor helped get them through.
These two winning entries will now advance to be considered for the National Edward R. Murrow Award. National Awards will be announced in June. “The name Edward R. Murrow means excellence to a journalist,” said Mike Redding, News Director at NEWS CENTER. “Murrow was the first and the best our business has ever seen. I see the great work we do every day, but I’m delighted that they have been recognized for their excellence by such a prestigious honor.”
