Local wildlife trek explores vernal pools at ANWR

    The Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge will host a workshop Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m.-noon where participants will learn about the wildlife that live in vernal pools in Aroostook County.

    The program is free and open to the public. Those attending should bring a pair of boots, preferably rubber boots that go above the ankle. Everyone will meet at the refuge office, 97 Refuge Rd., at 10.
    This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Aroostook National Wildlife Refuge.
