WOODLAND  — Police on Tuesday located and arrested a local man who had been wanted in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident that happened early Sunday.

Preston Brown Sr., 50, had allegedly fled the scene after the incident and successfully avoided police until he was captured just before noon Tuesday, according to Aroostook County Sheriff Darrell Crandall.
The sheriff said Brown was involved in an alleged “altercation” at his home but fled before deputies arrived. No further information about the altercation was released.
Crandall said in a statement that sheriff’s deputies located Brown and took him into custody Tuesday morning without incident.
Brown was charged with domestic assault, robbery and violation of conditions of release.
Crandall said the violation of conditions of release charge reflects that Brown was previously on bail for a drug offense. Brown was to be taken to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton but had not yet arrived as of early afternoon, an officer confirmed.
