Mavis I. Czosnek
CZOSNEK, Mavis I., 91, PRESQUE ISLE, May 9, 2015. There will be a private graveside service at Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Mars Hill.
PRESQUE ISLE – Mavis I. Czosnek, 91, passed away after a brief illness on May 9, 2015, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born on September 23, 1923, in Monticello, ME, to George Wilmont and Velma Nason.
Mavis worked for many years as a nurse at The Aroostook Medical Center. She loved the outdoors, working in her gardens or shoveling her driveway. She enjoyed her many friends who came often for a game of cards and chip ‘n dip. Mavis loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She was a strong woman with few complaints.
She is survived by a sister, Ella Nason of North Berwick; two sons, David Czosnek and his wife, Susan of Presque Isle, and Michael Czosnek and his wife, Betty of Auburn; five grandchildren, Kelly Mathes, Ryan Czosnek, Chris Czosnek, Terry Czosnek, and Samantha Czosnek Mattson; four great-grandchildren, Sera and Ethan Mathes, and Marcus and Kaiden Czosnek.
In addition to her parents, Mavis was predeceased by her husband, Edward; sisters, Marie Wilcox and Dot Diffin; brothers, Alton Nason, J. M. Nason, and Francis Nason; and several half brothers and sisters.
The Czosnek family would like to thank the staff at the Presque Isle Nursing and Rehab Center for their kindness.
