Washburn ATV Club
Club President Roger Hewitt offered advice on the Washburn ATV Club’s Facebook page, as the ATV season officially gets underway.
Trails officially opened over the holiday weekend. The first ride of the season is set for Saturday, May 30, with riders heading to Burger Boy in Caribou, leaving the clubhouse at 9 a.m. heading to Blackstone Siding, taking a break at Anderson’s Store in Stockholm, before continuing into Caribou. On the return the group will travel through Carson Siding, with a stop at Washburn Trailside, then back to the clubhouse. All are welcome to join the fun.
“Please respect all landowners and especially farmers; do not venture off the marked trail unless you have landowner permission. By obeying these simple rules you can make it easier for us to open future trails,” said Hewitt.
“Also, children need to wear a DOT-approved helmet even if riding in a side-by-side. Bike helmets are not DOT-approved unless it has the DOT stamp,” Hewitt said.
