VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA – Elizabeth “Betty” (Murray) Whittaker, 67, passed away March 3, 2015, after a 3 year battle with brain cancer. Elizabeth was born in Bangor, Maine on April 4, 1947, the daughter of Joseph F. Murray and Lucy (Cowie) Murray-Campbell.
She grew up in Island Falls and graduated from Island Falls High School in 1965. She moved to Bangor in 1979 and moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1997 where she continued as a valued and well-loved realtor, a career she loved that lasted over 25 years.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Laurie J. McGraw of Virginia Beach, Virginia and many close friends. Betty was laid to rest on May 23, 2015 in the Island Falls Cemetery. Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.
