Farm truck spills potato seed load onto roadway

LINNEUS, Maine — A farm truck loaded with potato seed overturned Sunday afternoon, temporarily closing a portion of the Bangor Road.

Christopher Hagan, 35, of Houlton was operating a 1994 Kenworth bulk body farm truck on the Bangor Road in Linneus around 2:30 p.m. when he attempted to turn right onto Burton Road, according to Sgt. Brian Harris of the Maine State Police Troop F division. The truck’s right tires went into the ditch, causing the vehicle to lean sharply to the right.
Because the truck was loaded with potato seed, the weight of the load caused the body to separate from the rest of the truck and spill the load onto the road.
Trooper Gavin Endre investigated the incident. No charges were filed and damages were not reported.
