Houlton Regional Hospital honors volunteers for multiple years of service

    HOULTON — In recognition of many hours and contributions devoted throughout the year by hospital volunteers, the Volunteer Department of Houlton Regional Hospital recently held its 30th Annual Volunteer Luncheon.
    The theme was “Spring Time and Thanks” for all you do over the past year.

    A total of 10,513 hours have been donated by volunteers at the hospital, since its inception an amazing 324,644 hours have been donated.
    There are currently 65 volunteers providing services at HRH with many departments utilizing their services.
    Some of the jobs are running up sales in our gift shop, spending quality time with our patients, reading to patients, as well as entertaining them.
    Also, helping to put supplies away, assisting in the laundry, as well as many clerical duties and special projects and greeting our patients and visitors at the information desk.
    “Over the many years I have been manager of our Volunteer Department, I have come to think of these individuals as more than volunteers, they are family,” said Patrice Lunnie. “Their many duties keep our hospital humming as they play a very important role as part of our hospital family.”
    Among the volunteers honored for their hours of service were: Al McCluskey, 12,700 hours; Gary Tidd, 10,000 hours; Joan Logan, 9,300 hours; co-gift shop manager Glynn Porter, 7,000 hours; Rita McDate, 4,000 hours; Arlene Bean, 3,200 hours; Virginia McLaughlin, 2,700 hours; Fran Dunn, 2,400 hours; Beverly Moody, 2,400 hours; and Lois Jeffery, 2,000 hours.
    Also, Betty Hutchinson, 1,850 hours; Patricia Chase, 1,600 hours; Debbie Bell, 1,600 hours; Helen Blois and William Dunn, both 1,500 hours; Donna Tracy, 1,400 hours; Barbara Grant, 1,350 hours; Brenda Chambers and Kelly Irish, both 900 hours; Louise Hamilton, 800 hours; Andrew Dorr and Elinor Harvey, both 650 hours; Mary Hatfield and Carol Stewart, both 450 hours; Marion Collins, Wendell Harvey and Brenda McCready, each 400 hours; Brenda McCready, 400 hours; Patti Hines, 350 hours; Ron Bragg, 200 hours; Angela Blake, Phil Lee, Peggy Robinson and Judy Willigar, 150 hours; Dawn Anderson, Robin Mosenfelder and Gail Prozzo, each 100 hours; and Lexi Bartlett, 50 hours.
