CARY – Alfred Augustus Wilcox, 72, entered into eternal life on May 10, 2015, after a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer. Born July 6, 1942, in Houlton, the sixth of ten children and son of Ralph and Leona (Stitham) Wilcox.
Al loved the Red Sox and going to the Windsor Senior Center with the love of his life, Mary Shea. He leaves the following siblings to mourn him: his sisters, Arlene (Brayall) Scoville of Newington, CT, and Mary (Drew) Allen of Mesa, AZ; brothers, David Wilcox of Windsor, CT, Darrell Wilcox of Tolland, CT, Richard Wilcox of S. Carolina and Gerald Wilcox of S. Windsor, CT, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place on June 6, 10 a.m. at the Cary Baptist Church in Cary, followed by an interment at Wilcox Cemetery in Cary and light luncheon back at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Windsor Senior Center, 599 Matianuck Ave, Windsor, CT 06095 or the Brain Tumor Center at Duke University Medical Center, P.O.
