HOULTON – Juanita Levesque, 90, passed away May 29, 2015, at a local hospital. She was born January 3, 1925, in Houlton, the only child of William P. and Marion (White) Shea.
Juanita grew up in Houlton and graduated from Houlton High School, class of 1942. She met and married George Levesque on January 3, 1945. In the late 1960s, Juanita went to work as an Administrative Assistant at Madigan Hospital and then at Houlton Regional Hospital. She was a longtime fan of the Boston Red Sox especially in the 60s and 70s when “Yaz” and Fisk were playing. She was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. Juanita loved to read and cook, making a great oatmeal bread. She was very independent and protective of her family. She was always open to meeting new people and experiencing new things.
Juanita is survived by her two daughters, Karen Bickerman and her husband, Peter, of Readfield, Lucie Carpenter and her husband, Kevin, of New Limerick; five grandchildren, Joshua Bickerman, Erin Levesque, Kalyn Bickerman, Eric Carpenter and Taylor Carpenter; a great-granddaughter, Cadence Bickerman; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, George; and her infant son, George.
Friends called at the Dunn Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, 11 a.m. until the time of the service 12 with Rev. Dennis Ashley officiating. Interment was in the St. Mary’s Cemetery.
