Appreciates hospital’s ‘pearly gates’
To the editor:
Many people regard their employment as “a necessary evil” or a source of required income. But to a man stepping out of diabetic hell and a Town Taxi “ambulance,” the receptionists of TAMC’s emergency room seem like St. Peters of Heaven’s Pearly Gate. And beyond the chippery receptionists, one is greeted everywhere by the angelic staff of Dr. Stacy Jandreau, when I was in the early Friday morning of May 22.
Dr. Jandreau came soon and quickly assessed my infected toes and prescribed antibiotic and anti-pain medication, issued an 11-page pamphlet of vital diabetic care information to me, and made a call to my boarding home guardian angels to give them care instructions and to send a home chariot to pick me up.
On my way out, the receptionists were still dispensing contagious smiles and ER processing to other stressed relief-seekers. I have knocked on TAMC’s pearly gate enough times to contrast it to hell’s gates of illness. Thanks again.
