Dolores Marie Bouchard

AR Dolores Bouchard    CROSS LAKE AND FORT KENT – Dolores Marie Bouchard, 92, passed away peacefully June 3, 2015, at Crosswinds in Fort Kent. She was born December 23, 1922, in Caribou, Maine, the daughter of Euclide and Marie (Dionne) Bouchard.
Dolores worked at the family potato business in Caribou for many years. Known as “Auntie Do” to her many nieces and nephews, she was a bundle of energy packed into a petite 4’10” frame. She was an avid animal lover and a pretty impressive poker player. Dolores loved being at her home on Cross Lake which was usually filled with the above mentioned nieces and nephews. She enjoyed people and was well known at many a diners in Sinclair and Fort Kent. With a bubbly personality and warm heart, everyone who met her became a quick friend and she had many. Dolores loved all types of animals and had many Keeshonds throughout her life. She had compassion for the smallest of creatures and took great pleasure in sitting on her deck listening to the birds sing and the loons call on the lake. She lived out the last of her years at Crosswinds where the staff too became caring friends.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her three brothers, Roger Bouchard, Kenneth Bouchard and Roland Bouchard, all of Cross Lake; and her sister, Constance (Bouchard) Baker of Madawaska.
She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. The family would like to thank the staff at Crosswinds and family friend, Gertrude Albert for making Dolores’ passing a peaceful one. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Dolores by donating to the memorial fund at Crosswinds, 40 Village Road, Fort Kent, ME 04743 or to the Humane Society. A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
