ARspec-MavisMarsh    COLORADO CITY, TX – Mavis C. Marsh, 69, of Colorado City, Texas, went to be with her Lord on May 18, 2015, after a brief illness.
    Born July 29, 1945, Mavis was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Haney McNeal in Woodland, Maine. Mavis was a family woman who was deeply rooted in her community. She was a life-long member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper in the area, keeping the books for many businesses including the Colorado City Independent School District, the Mitchell County Hospital, and Integracare, where she worked until she could not work anymore. In her spare time, Mavis enjoyed bowling, going for long walks, doing things with her friends, and doing anything she could with her grandchildren, sometimes spoiling them.
    Mavis is survived by her two sons, Gary Marsh and wife, Michelle of Round Rock, and Franklin Marsh and his wife, Terri of Big Spring; 6 grandchildren, Rebecca Mince, Emily Marsh, Hannah Marsh and Justin Marsh of Big Spring, and Peyton Marsh and Zachary Marsh of Round Rock. Also surviving are Mavis’s siblings, Carolyn Wilcox and husband, Edward of Apache Junction, Arizona; Thelma Powers and husband, Charlie of Old Orchard Beach, Maine; Deborah McNeal of New Sweden, Maine; Robert McNeal and wife, Cheryl of Colorado City; and David McNeal and wife, Theresa of Voorhees, New Jersey, as well as many nieces and nephews.
    Mavis was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Charles Sheldon McNeal, Wilson Gary McNeal, Wilfred McNeal, and Melvin McNeal.
    Visitation for Mavis will be held on Friday, May 22, at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
    A funeral service were held at the Calvary Baptist Church in Colorado City at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 23rd, with interment to follow in the Colorado City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Mavis has requested donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
