    ALLEN, Elizabeth Rosary (Bohl), 93, PRESQUE ISLE, June 3 2015. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of Faye Funeral Home, Presque Isle.

    PRESQUE ISLE – Elizabeth Rosary (Bohl) Allen was born May 15, 1922, to Charles and Anna (Dierykcx) Bohl in Patterson, NJ, and was baptized in St. Theresa’s Parish. Maternal grandparents were Oscar and Stephanie (Van Hove) Dierykcx Antwerp, Belgium, passed away June 3. Paternal grandparents were Albert Bohl of Alsace Province, France, and Elizabeth (Brunner) Bohl of Switzerland.
    Elizabeth attended Catholic School through grade 12. She learned the skill of sewing from her grandmother, Stephanie, beginning when she was eight years old, and became a gifted seamstress. She also enjoyed playing piano and singing. Elizabeth studied nursing and worked as an RN at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City for a total of eight years, including the difficult and long days of World War II. On November 27, 1948, she married Frank J. Allen of Brooklyn, NY, then devoted herself to the care and raising of her family. Three children were born to them, George, Anna and Andrew.
    Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents, grandparents and husband of nearly 51 years.
    Surviving are her children, George J. Allen of Caribou and wife, Peggy, Anna McGrath of Seattle, WA, Andrew Allen of Towson, MD, and companion, Josie Irvine, daughter, Allison and Blake Kalkstein of Townson, MD. As well as grandchildren, Matthew McGrath of Manassas, VA, and wife, Lynna, Katherine Kinsman of Seattle and husband, Mike, David McGrath of Hartford, CT, and wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Connor, Madeline and Elizabeth Kinsman.
    Friends may call Friday from 7-9 p.m., at Faye Funeral Home, 5 Erskine St., Presque Isle. A Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus, Presque Isle. Interment will take place at a later date at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
