County Co-Op offers educational classes

    HOULTON, Maine — The County Co-Op and Farm Store is sponsoring a series of educational classes on the second floor of its 53 Main St. business location Wednesday evenings through Aug. 26.
All classes start at 6 p.m.
Upcoming classes are as follows:

June 24 — Essential Oil Usage and Safety. Essential oils are all the rage lately. Come learn how to incorporate essential oils into our everyday lives safely. Hosted by Bee Morse Farm. Cost of class is $20, includes samples, bottle and project cards.
July 8 — Detox yourself naturally. Every day we are bombarded with loads of toxic chemicals. Let’s learn how to detox ourselves with gentle, easy methods featuring super-foods and herbs. Hosted by Bee Morse Farm. The cost of the class is $5.
July 15 — Balancing Energy. Join us for the informal chat about how to balance and attain healthy positive energy. Hosted by Dorothy Fitzpatrick.
July 22 — Get to know your herbs, Interested in learning about herbology? This class features 10 common herbs and their healing powers. Hosted by Bee Morse Farm.

Aug. 5 — Natural Medicine Cabinet. Learn how to assemble an all-natural medicine cabinet with herbs and essential oils. Hosted by Bee Morse Farm. The cost is $5.
Aug. 12 — Intro to Aruyveda. Come and change your life!  Learn fundamental Ayurvedic principles for healthy living, hosted by Linda Rowe of the Mindful Way.
Aug. 19 — Pressure Canning Class. Our pressure canning class offers instruction on safely pressure canning low acid foods such as stock, beans, and meats. Hosted by Lisa Fishman from the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. The cost is $12.50.
Aug. 26 — Post Harvest Soil Conditioning for your Garden. Hosted by Southern Aroostook Soils and Water Conservation District.
