Rotary Club to hold Independence Day truck pulls

    The Rotary Club of Washburn will host its sixth annual Truck and Tractor Pulls at the Fairground on July 4. Many classes of trucks and tractors will be competing for cash prizes.

Registration begins at 3:30 p.m. and the pulls start at 6 p.m. Join us in celebrating the Fourth of July and the annual pulls. Adult admission is $10.

21st Century  Summer Program

    The Washburn 21st Century Summer Program is just about to start. It is open to Washburn District Elementary School students entering grades 1-8 this fall and is free of charge.
The program runs four days a week — Monday through Thursday from 7:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. starting July 6. Experienced instructors offer a lot of fun activities and field trips.

Summer reading program sign-up is today

    Sign up for the summer reading program Wednesday, July 1. All preschool and school-aged children are welcome. Activities are at the library Monday evenings at 6 p.m. Call the library for more information at 455-4814.
