LCS/MSSM Eagle spring athletes recognized

  LIMESTONE, Maine — Awards were presented June 4 to members of the spring sports teams at Limestone Community School and MSSM. Awards were given in middle baseball and softball, along with varsity track, baseball and softball. Participants in the mid-winter sport of volleyball were also recognized.
Middle level baseball awards were presented by coach Pierre Huntress. Receiving the Coach’s Award was Tommy Pinette. Alec Comeau received the Most Improved Award while Karson Albert received the MVP.

First-year softball coach Jocelyn Dillon presented awards to members of her team. Most Improved Player was Taylor LaBreck and Cassidy Moore received the Coach’s Award. Taylor Devoe was named the Most Valuable Player.
Coach Sarah Rossignol presented certificates and letters to LCS high school students who took part in the volleyball program. Students receiving recognition were Travis Hatfield, Trevor Hale, Matthew Hancock, Victor Negron, Delaney Rossignol and Ashley Woodworth.
Kirk Cote presented awards and certificates to members of the LCS/MSSM boys’ and girls track team.  Three students received All-Aroostook honors: Grier Ostermann, Eva Farkas, and Cole Butler. Coach’s Awards went to Jessica Tucker and Butler. Most Improved Awards were given to Leah Kihn and Thomas Dollof.  Osterman and Lil Costello received Captains Awards for their leadership during the season.
Eric McGough presented awards to members of the varsity baseball team. A Captains Award was given to Sam Kupiec. The MVP Award went to Gordon McCulloh, while Paul Gentile received the Most Improved Award and Andy Whitman the Coach’s Award. McCulloh and Kupiec were also recognized as All-Aroostook selections.
First-year coach Jamie Albert presented awards and certificates to the varsity softball team. Captains Awards were given to juniors Jackie Peers, Maddie Williams and Kassee Albert. The Most Improved Award went to Megan Faucher, while the team’s MVP award went to Ellyzabeth Bencivenga.  Bencivenga, Albert, Williams and Peers were also recognized for being selected to the All-Aroostook team.
Finally, the end-of-year senior awards were presented. Annie Sinclair was selected the recipient of the Roger Bernard Medallion for displaying positive leadership, school citizenship, and character traits during her four-year career. The Pet Thornton/Howard Lello Awards for outstanding senior male athletes were given to Ostermann and Kupiec. Bencivenga was the recipient of the Thornton/Lello Award as outstanding senior female athlete.
