Eight join County Red Cross board

    CARIBOU — The American Red Cross of Northern and Eastern Maine has added eight community leaders to its Aroostook County Advisory Board.
    A new slate of officers was also approved at the organization’s final board meeting of the fiscal year, held in June.

    “The Red Cross relies heavily on the hard work of our volunteers, and our team in The County has been incredible,” said Joyce Knorr, community manager for the Red Cross in Aroostook County. “Our Advisory Board helps set the organization’s direction and keeps us focused on our mission of helping those affected by disasters. At the same time, they’re always ready to roll up their sleeves when needed.”
    New board members include Stacey R. Beals-Wheeler, Gateway Title, Presque Isle; Denise Beaulieu, F. A. Peabody Co., Presque Isle; Phil Bosse, office of Senator Susan Collins, Caribou; Jamie Guerrette, The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle; Sandy Marrett, Works of Heart, Caribou; Lisa Prescott, Cary Medical Center, Caribou; SSgt. Brian T. Saucier, Maine National Guard, Caribou; and Kim Rohn, office of Congressman Bruce Poliquin, Presque Isle.
    Board members returning for the coming year include Dennis Drew, U. S. Navy, Retired; Roger Felix, Sgt. Major, Retired, Lister Knowlton VFW Post 9389, Caribou, and Loring Job Corps; Bill Flagg, Cary Medical Center, Caribou; Carrie Hull, Katahdin Trust Company, Presque Isle; Penny Kern, Aroostook Health and Safety, Presque Isle; Tami Kilcollins, Kilcollins Farms, Fort Fairfield; Rachel Rice, University of Maine at Presque Isle; Chief Scott Susi, Caribou Fire Department; and Kelly Landeen, WAGM-TV, Presque Isle, ex officio member.
    Elected as officers during the June meeting were: Jonathan Cote, chair, EMA Director for the Aroostook Band of MicMacs and Limestone volunteer firefighter; Lori Knight-Phair, vice chair, Caribou Middle School; Barbara Hayslett, secretary, office of Senator Angus King; and Mary Michaud, development chair, Katahdin Valley Health Center.
    The Northern and Eastern Chapter has offices in Bangor and Caribou.
